Therapeutic Writing Group: Reclaiming Your Voice:
In this small group, of no more than 5 participants, we use writing as a tool for healing in a safe and supportive virtual community space.  Using writing prompts drawn from various artists (such as poetry, prose, lyric, and imagery) you will be guided gently and lovingly into your own inner world of emotion, inquiry, memory, and imagination to build a relationship with your voice and connect with it as your guide. We will write together (in the spirit of Pat Schneider, Julia Cameron, Natalie Goldberg, Anne Lamott, and Elizabeth Gilbert) to exercise our voices, explore what limits them, create inner-safety for their emergence, and give each other courage through community.  No previous writing experience is necessary.  We are all writers and story-tellers by virtue of our humanity.  The focus will be on safety, privacy, and self-direction so that you can move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

Supported Self-Discovery Group:
In this small group, of no more than 5 participants, you will be guided through self-discovery experiences using an integrated therapeutic approach including Emotion-focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Polyvagal Theory, and the Hakomi Method to explore your internal world. We will use writing, art, somatic exploration, imagination and discussion to unearth the truths that may be whispering to you from within, and provide them with the love and attention they likely need to emerge.  The focus will be on safety, privacy, and self-direction so that you can move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

In therapy, I will support your ability to notice and make sense of your human experience. We will work together, at your pace, in an anti-oppressive way, to explore your concerns, identify your needs, heal the parts of you that have been wounded, and integrate them back home to the self.

My therapeutic style is compassion-focused and curiosity-led. I take a client-centred approach to healing. Together, we can integrate a variety of practices into your therapeutic journey, including mindful awareness, body awareness, parts work, breath, visualization, creativity, writing, movement and nature connection. My approach is always trauma-informed and respectful of your unique lived experience. Our work together will be focused on helping you understand your own personal processes, so that you can build a healthy relationship with your emotions, your nervous system, your mind, and your spirit.

In working with me you can expect to spend our first five to ten sessions developing a relationship based on trust so that we can safely begin to explore what is burdening you.  The therapeutic relationship is a very important piece of the healing process.  Your safety and your trust are very important to me.  You are the expert of your own life.  I am here to help you create the inner-safety and stability to develop a loving and trusting relationship with yourself.

In therapy, I will support your ability to notice and make sense of your human experience. We wil... Read More
