My own journey with mental/physical wellbeing, burnout, and balancing life/parenthood has uncovered a great respect and love for all things mental wellness and the mind/body/soul connection. I have a diverse background of experience within the mental and physical health field, spanning crisis response, leadership, and 8+ years as a community mental health counselling therapist, to years of running inclusive fitness and yin yoga classes. Through these experiences, I continuously return to gratitude and awe as I witness the healing and growth that connection, safety, and awareness can inspire. It is a joy to sit with you.
My approach to therapy is one that encompasses warmth, safety, authenticity, and gentle curiosity. I work in a client and compassion-centered manner that values your experience, your voice, and all parts of you. Shared humanity, kindness, and dignity are concepts that greatly influence my life and my practice, and it is my hope to create a space that feels safe enough for you to explore your own authenticity, humanity, and healing. I believe in the transformational aspect of safe, caring, and honest relationships, where the process of gentle exploration and being seen and valued, inspire your own innate capacity for healing and growth.
I work with individuals to support, explore, and allow space to soften, rest, and heal. Working in a manner that invites choice, self-awareness, flexibility, self-compassion, and value-aligned action, while incorporating body/somatic awareness and the intuitive knowledge within. With partnership work, we engage in a collaborative space for awareness, healing, connecting, and strengthening communication.

My philosophy as a psychotherapist is informed by my own experiences with anxiety and burnout. I have learned that talking in a therapeutic space feels like offloading weight from the mind, body and soul. Therapy is a beautiful space that gives you a safe container to pause, acknowledge, and explore in the presence of a caring support person. I would be honored to provide that space for you.
With 10 years of experiences as a Critical Care Nurse, I have experience with suffering, and have incorporated skills to be a compassionate support for your healing journey. Together, we will explore what causes you pain, and create opportunities for healing, at a pace that feels right for you.
If you are interested in group therapy, I also facilitate the Therapeutic Writing Groups at Seasons, where we use our pens, paper, and community to facilitate healing.
Warmly,
Allison

In therapy, I will support your ability to notice and make sense of your human experience. We will work together, at your pace, in an anti-oppressive way, to explore your concerns, identify your needs, heal the parts of you that have been wounded, and integrate them back home to the self.
My therapeutic style is compassion-focused and curiosity-led. I take a client-centred approach to healing. Together, we can integrate a variety of practices into your therapeutic journey, including mindful awareness, body awareness, parts work, breath, visualization, creativity, writing, movement and nature connection. My approach is always trauma-informed and respectful of your unique lived experience. Our work together will be focused on helping you understand your own personal processes, so that you can build a healthy relationship with your emotions, your nervous system, your mind, and your spirit.
In working with me you can expect to spend our first five to ten sessions developing a relationship based on trust so that we can safely begin to explore what is burdening you. The therapeutic relationship is a very important piece of the healing process. Your safety and your trust are very important to me. You are the expert of your own life. I am here to help you create the inner-safety and stability to develop a loving and trusting relationship with yourself.
